Children's Training Choir

The Director of Music at All Saints Church, an experienced vocal coach and choral conductor, runs a training choir for primary school children aged six or over.   It meets in the church on Monday evenings for two twelve-week courses each year.

2013:  Monday 30th September to Monday 2nd December
2014:  Monday 27th January to Monday 31st March

We firmly believe that every child can sing, and enjoy it!  There are no auditions for these sessions, no charge, and the only requirement for attendance is a desire to learn to sing.   We focus on classical vocal technique, particularly the development of the head voice and a well supported sound.  We also teach the discipline of being in a busy choir and the basics of singing from sheet music.  We encourage “graduates” from our training choir to consider joining the large, friendly children's section of our regular choir.

Members of our training choir are given several opportunities to perform in public during the twelve week course, most often on a Sunday morning with the church choir.
