VISITING SOUTHWELL

We have visited the choir during their Cathedral Week for 20 years. This year we were present at the first evensong instead of the weekend and were impressed at how quickly the members settle into this more formal setting and how beautifully they sang.

Over the years we have visited many other cathedrals and minsters and were delighted that, for the first time, we had found a dog-friendly one! Not only were we able to take Oscar in to do the tourist bit, we were also able to take him to evensong. It was too hot to leave him in the car, so we were expecting that only one of us could go to the service.

As for Oscar, with the cool atmosphere and stone floor, he thought it was heaven on earth!
